It is a unique experience to observe one’s own eyes. To see what one sees through. The starting point of my exhibition are the images taken of my retina in 2016 at an eye clinic in northern California. As soon as I saw my retina on the monitor in front of me, I knew that I would embroider it as a tapestry. And so it has happened.
A very special universe has opened up to me since I stepped through my iris in search of insight into the back screen of my eye. The eye in its entirety is a complex planet where I have discovered strange landscapes, both earth-like and extraterrestrial. It is extremely personal and at the same time infinitely universal. I myself am in this landscape, and this landscape is in me. Presence in the unbounded space of the mind.
