ABOUT

Georgie KAPALA

Graphic Designer, illustrator, artist

Ever since I was a child I have been interested in drawing. After graduating from the Hungarian High School of Art, I attended the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, where I attained a university degree in graphic design.
I have worked as an art director at several international advertising agencies (Ammurati Puris Lintas, Publicis, BBDO, Lowe GGK). More recently I create personalized graphic works for my clients at my own studio.
I designed and illustrated Elek Benedek’s Magic Lamp Book of Fables series (Scolar Press) which has sold over 10 thousand copies.
Since 2006, I have been using needle point as a medium to represent personal technical images (X-ray, CT, retinal scan) to manifest a sense of identity that gives way to both personal meaning and irony. Currently, I am researching information storage structures and finding ways to translate them into needlepoint images.
